UCLA Football: Bruins a Very Early Underdog Vs Texas A&M

Despite the fact that we are two days removed from the 2016 National Championship Game, odds have been set for first week of the next season, including UCLA Football and their SEC battle with Texas A&M.

The college football season may have just ended, but as we all know, it is a year round sport. With that, 247 Sports has reported that the betting website 5Dimes, has posted early odds for Week 1 of the 2016 season.

One of those early predictions involves the UCLA Football team and their season opener at Texas A&M in College Station on Saturday, September 3.

The early line has the Aggies as three point favorites, which essentially makes this a pick’em in favor of Texas A&M hosting this game.

Now understand that the next season is seven and a half months away, so these early lines are completely arbitrary. There is a lot of time until the 2016 kickoff so watch for this line to fluctuate.

It seems as though these odds are based on the current state of both programs and not on their potential. Though UCLA ended the season 8-5, they should be stronger to start the 2016 season behind sophomore QB Josh Rosen.

Texas A&M does not have that luxury, in fact, it seems that they have their own QB issues. Since the end of the regular season, the Aggies have lost two highly-touted QBs as Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray have transferred from College Station.

On top of trying to quickly acclimate a new QB, Texas A&M is also in transition with their offense as they recently hired former UCLA offensive coordinator, Noel Mazzone.

Persoanlly, with these factors in place, my way-too-early prediction sees UCLA getting a 10-point victory in a tough southern football environment. Go Bruins!
