Bruin Report Online has reported that the new offensive coordinator for the UCLA Football team will be Kennedy Polamalu, per agreement. Additionally, Marques Tuiasosopo has been hired as quarterbacks coach.

UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora has moved quickly with the hiring of a new Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach. Bruin Report Online has just released the news that it has been “agreed” that Kennedy Polamalu will take the new OC position, as well as hire former USC coach Marques Tuiasosopo as the new QB coach.

Both spots opened up after former UCLA Football coaches Noel Mazzone and Taylor Mazzone decided to take positions on the Texas A&M coaching staff. UCLA will face Texas A&M in College Station on September 3 to open up the 2016 season.

As for Polamalu, this is not his first time as an offensive coordinator. From 2010-12 he ran the offense at USC under Lane Kiffin. In each season he had no less than seven wins, and won 10 games in 2011.

Polamalu also has NFL experience as he was an assistant with the Cleveland Browns and RB coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tuiasosopo brings an interesting element to the staff. Not only does he have experience as a QB coach, but he is familiar with the Bruins as he worked with UCLA and Mora in 2012. On top of that, he has several recruiting ties he could bring to Westwood.

David Woods of Bruin Report Online wrote, “Tuiasosopo has played a key role in the recruitment of 2016 defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa and 2016 tight end Devin Asiasi for USC, and it’s thought that his hire by UCLA could have positive impact on the Bruins’ recruitment of both prospects.”

According to Scout.com, Asiasi is a 4-star prospect and the #4 TE in the nation. Tagaloa is also a 4-star and ranked the 11th best DT in the country.
