Player to Watch
- Kris Wilkes – Wilkes has been the most consistent scorer in this early part of the season. Even when the Bruins can’t get baskets collectively, Wilkes always seems to have the answer.
Last Word
The UCLA basketball team needs to keep their eyes on this LMU team. The Lions are undefeated and they are not looking to slow down any time soon. Though they might be playing a ledgendary program, this season, the Bruins have not exaclty shown that they are national championship material.

The Lions are playing some very good basketball right now and that could disrupt the Bruins’ game plan. Loyola runs a very methodical style and like to get everyone involved. James Bateman has been doing a solid job of leading this team in points and the nation in free thorws made (53, for 88.3%).
That is one thing the Bruins have to keep in check, fouls. LMU is a great free throwing shooting team so UCLA needs to mind thier physicality.
The Bruins did a great job of bouncing back after a disasterous trip to Las Vegas and should continue that today. Jaylen Hands commanded the team better than he has all season. Against Hawaii, he might have only had four points, but his 11 rebounds helped the team overcome the Rainbow Warriors.
Also watch for the battle for position down low. LMU’s big man Matthias Markusson is a big guy and will probably muscle out Moses Brown. That is why Brown has to play smart and use his athleticism to his advantage.
UCLA also needs their role players to step up. Prince Ali had a great scoring perfomance against Hawaii, putting up a caree-high 23 points. Cody Riley, David Singleton and Jules Bernard also have to show up tonight. Ig this game comes down to depth, these freshman have to take charge if others cannot.
Prediction: UCLA 78 – LMU 76
