The upside to this is that the team is working with Jaggers and will let him stay on scholarship while he continues to work on his degree at UCLA.

More from Go Joe Bruin

Jaggers has only been with the program one year and did not see time on the field in 2017. The 6’4, 255 pound tight end came into UCLA as a 4-star prospect, who added former UCLA head coach Jim Mora’s last official recruiting class.

As a tight end, Jaggers was going to be a part of a talented position group which is going to be highly utilized this fall. Though the Bruins lose Jaggers, they still have depth with Caleb Wilson, Devin Asiasi and Jordan Wilson.

During the spring, Jaggers was listed on the injury report, though it was unknown why at the time. This recent revelation now explains the reasoning.

It is unfortunate that a career has end in this way, but Jaggers has to do what is best and right now that is taking care of his him and finishing school. Good luck with everything, Jimmy.
