The UCLA Bruins have once again shown their dominance over USC as the Bruins have won the 2018 Crosstown Cup Championship which is awarded to the school in the crosstown rivalry with the most team wins in an academic year.

Troy has fallen! Again! For the second year in a row, the UCLA Bruins have conquered the USC Trojans as the Blue and Gold have won this year’s Crosstown Cup.

It wasn’t even close as UCLA destroyed Troy in most head-to-head competitions during the 2017-18 season with an overall score of 115-75. The Bruins increased their margin of victory by 20 points from last season when UCLA won by a score of 105-85.

In 39 matchups since the Fall of 2017, UCLA came away victorious in 24 while USC only had 14 wins. One event ended in a tie (Women’s Swim & Dive).

USC struck first back in the fall when their football team barely defeated the Josh Rosen-led Bruins. From there, it was all UCLA.

Some of the bigger Bruin wins came from women’s water polo (defeated the Trojans in the NCAA Championship), both men’s and women’s basketball teams (sweeping the Trojans in four games collectively), Baseball (winning the season 3-1 which included an impressive weekend sweep that had the Bruins dismantle the Trojans in runs, 42-6), men’s tennis (swept USC 3-0, including a win in the Pac-12 Championship) and beach volleyball (they went 5-1 against USC which included booting the two-time reigning NCAA Champs from the tournament on their way to the Bruins’ first ever title).

Needless to say, it was quite the year to be a Bruin!

What was it that former UCLA football player Brett Hundley said? Oh yeah… “UCLA runs L.A. Everybody knows that!” Go Bruins!
