Last weekend, the beach volleyball team won their first national title ever after a tournament that almost derailed their title hopes, yet also came back in the tournament to win the title and give UCLA their 116th overall championship, this time tying Stanford.

Bypassing Stanford is not the goal, championships are, yet it does mean something to Bruins fans that they regain the lead most for NCAA titles and they still have a chance to achieve that with a few Bruin teams almost ready for or already competing in postseason play.

Unfortunately, women’s water polo had a chance this weekend, but they were downed by USC on Saturday, who eventually won the championship.

Though many Bruins would scorn the at fact that USC won a champion, you have to admit that the Pac-12 is indeed the conference of champions as UCLA, USC and Stanford have combined for seven total championships during the 2017-18 season.

So who is left for the Bruins?

The men’s tennis team just defeated San Diego and is heading to the Salem, Oregon for the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. The same goes for women’s tennis who took down Baylor and is also head ing north for the Round fo 16.

Women’s golf is already in the championship round and will head to Norman, OK to try and win the natty during the NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament on May 18-23.

Baseball has two more weeks of the regular season and have been doing a decent enough job to make the NCAA Regionals, but might be in for a tough time.

And finally, the #1 UCLA softball team has completed their regular season and finish 50-4. With the NCAA Regionals starting next Friday, we should hear in the next few days about the Bruins hosting the first weekend. With the season they had, there is a good possibility they make it to the Super Regionals and NCAA WOmen’s College World Series.
