The last two official practices will be closed to the public, presumably because the team will prepare for the Spring Game which is the following Saturday. Tickets for the game are $10 in advance, $15 day of event, $5 for kids 3-12 and UCLA students.
UCLA began spring practice at the beginning of March, a month before the Bruins usually start. In those first two weeks, we have already seen the direction new head coach Chip Kelly is taking the team as speed has been the name of the game. Practices are quick and precise with the coaches trying to get every player as many reps as possible.
The reason for this is because Kelly and Co. want to assess everything that they have at their disposal on their current roster. Kelly has said that he has not seen any film from last season and wants a fresh look at his team.
UCLA will also have several new players joining the program which includes 4-star WR Chase Cota and junior college transfers LB Je’Vari Anderson and Tyree Thompson. Unfortunately, the Bruins will be without decommitted Washington grad transfer K.J. Carta-Samuels who willl be heading to Colorado State instead.
