After a late-season surge, the UCLA Baseball team is heading to the Long Beach Regional this week to face the Texas Longhorns, which is the first step in the Road to Omaha.

It was a long tough season, but a late push got the UCLA Baseball team’s foot in the door as the are the no. 3 seed in the Long Beach Regional. The Bruins found out this morning that their efforts have paid off and will take on Texas this Friday at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN2 at Blair Field on the campus of Long Beach State.

Long Beach got the overall no. 1 seed and will host the regional and take on San Diego State in the game following UCLA-Texas.

The regional portion of the NCAA Playoffs will be in a round-robin double elimination format, meaning that a team has to lose twice to get booted from the regional. Win out and the team moves on.

The schedule is as follows:

The Bruins are looking to capture their second national championship under Head Coach John Savage who brought UCLA their first title in baseball back in 2013. Though it would be great for them to get their second and UCLA their 114th, first things first, beat Texas in the Long Beach Regional. Go Bruins!
