BOOM! With the 81st pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins have selected former UCLA Football CB Fabian Moreau!
Cornerback is a premium position in the NFL and while there may be others with more name recognition, few are as a good as former UCLA Football defensive back, Fabian Moreau.
This will serve more as a flashcard than a draft profile but if you’d like to read my full report on Moreau check it out here.

Positives:
In addition to having fantastic length and bulk for the position, Moreau proved at the NFL combine that he can hold up in a footrace with almost anyone. His 4.35 forty is blazing fast considering he measured in at just a hair under 6’0 and 205lbs.

He’s physical at the line and will re-route receivers while using the sideline to squeeze receivers out of the play. He’s aware in off and zone coverage displaying the ability to drive on a route before the receiver does.
Against the run Moreau is a willing combatant and although not used much as a blitzer he does have the skills to do it.
Negatives:
Despite being a former offensive player Moreau has very little in terms of turnover production. He had a Lisfranc injury in 2015 and even with his impressive season and workouts it is a tricky injury to deal with.
Speaking of workouts, Moreau tore a pectoral muscle during his pro-day on the bench press and had surgery there after. He should be ready for training camp but it was a very poorly timed injury and he slid because of it.
Final:
Moreau is an immediate upgrade at the corner position and in my opinion can even be tried at safety. Not because I think he won’t work out at the corner but because he is rangy, athletic, and too good to keep off the field.
