The UCLA Football team looks to be well represented in the NFL Draft once again and Go Joe Bruin has the information you need for the 3-day event.

The NFL Draft, a little island of football when there is no football. So why is there so much excitement surrounding this three day event? Because it is the future of football!

Several of the best college football players (that are eligible) from last season get to fulfill their dreams as they get started with their professional careers. NFL teams build their boards and make their selection from the guys they believe will either take them out of the league basement or help them take the next step towards winning a Lombardi Trophy. The most important question still remains…

Who will choose who?

UCLA Football in the NFL Draft

For the UCLA Football team, there are an estimated five players that could get drafted, with a few possible first round picks. Takkarist McKinley has been getting a lot of love and is expected to be a late first round or early second round selection.

Eddie Vanderdoes was able to bounce back from injury and help a defensive line improve on their run defense as he created problems for several offensive lines. He is mobile and has the strength to get past the first block which will be essential in the NFL.

Fabian Moreau has been a popular figure with several teams and could hear his name called in the second round although his pro-day injury might cause a little slide. If that happens some lucky team will land a major value.

Jayon Brown and Conor McDermott project to be taken in the late rounds on Saturday. Brown was a key component to the Bruins defense the last two seasons and could find a spot depending on which team selects him. McDermott had a lot to prove last season with the Bruins inept offense, though he was able to be one of the brighter spots on the line.

There are also a handful of Bruins who could hear their names called late on day 3 or will receive training camp invites as undrafted free agents or UDFA’s.

UCLA is going to be well taken care of in the NFL Draft. Can they make it five years straight of a Bruin being selected in the first two rounds?  The odds are stacked in their favor but as always good luck to all the Bruins this weekend and in their NFL careers. It isn’t where you’re drafted that counts but what you do once you get there.
