Five-star dual threat quarterback Tate Martell has narrowed his college selection down to five schools, including the UCLA Football program.
With the way the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the nation is handling his recruitment, we could very well find out where he is going to attend college by the end of the month.

Tate Martell (Bishop Gorman HS/Las Vegas, NV) continues to trim his list of football programs, which, luckily for Bruin fans, includes UCLA Football.
Martell’s recruitment has been an interesting one. After being offered a scholarship by former Washington Head Coach Steve Sarkisian back in the 8th grade, Martell has committed to two different schools.

Martell started with giving his pledge to UW, but broke that off when Sark left town for USC. He then found a new school that seemed to be a good fit in Texas A&M. Unfortunately, with the Aggies making a change to their offensive coordinator position, things did not fit as he hoped.
Texas A&M hired former UCLA OC Noel Mazzone who runs a spread offense and could not have been more perfect for Martell, seeing as Mazzone coached dual-threat QB Brett Hundley at UCLA in his system.
Unfortunately, there was a disconnect with Martell and Mazzone, prompting the #1 dual-threat QB in the nation to decommit (good job Mazzone).
Since then, Martell has re-opened his recruitment and is still looking for that perfect fit. Last week, Martell had trimmed his list to seven schools, including UCLA.
Today, that list got even shorter.
This is good news for UCLA Football who is seriously being considered by Martell. The dual-threat QB may be looking to play on the West Coast with offers from UCLA, USC, Cal and Colorado, but if he does go east, who could blame him with an ever-so-tantilizing offer to play for Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes?
OSU is the only school back east that Martell has on his short list as he cut Miami and West Virginia since last week.

Though his recruitment is far from over, expect to hear more from Martell through the summer months as he finds the best landing spot for him and his talents. Hopefully, UCLA could be a viable spot for the 2017 QB and be a solid replacement for Josh Rosen.
