The UCLA Football team came in at No. 21 in ESPN’s way-too-early Top 25.

Although the college football season is over, it is never too soon to look ahead to the next season.

After Alabama defeated Clemson 45-40 in the National Championship Game yesterday, ESPN has already started looking to the future and your UCLA Football team has come in at #21 on their way-too-early rankings for the 2016 season.

Despite not being ranked in this last season’s Final AP Poll after an 8-5 season, which ended with a loss to USC in the final game of the season and a loss to Nebraska in the Foster Farms Bowl, the Bruins still have a lot going for them heading into next season.

More from Go Joe Bruin

The biggest piece is sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen who will look to build off of his record-breaking year. In addition to that, the Bruins return nine players on defense, which will help consistency going forward.

The Bruins also look to have their coaching situation figured out after Offensive Coordintor Noel Mazzone and Quarterbacks Coach Taylor Mazzone have left for Texas A&M.

UCLA has agreed in principle to promote RB Coach Kennedy Polamalu to OC while also hiring former USC coach Marques Tuiasosopo as the new QB coach.

As far as the conference, the Bruins are not alone in the rankings as 6 Pac-12 teams were also on the list. In order it is #8 Stanford, #15 USC, #18 Oregon, #20 Washington State and #25 Washington.

Despite the down year, it looks as if the national perception has the Bruins bouncing back in 2016. Though it will continue to be a hard road to travel, especially in the Pac-12, UCLA Football just might improve off of this past season and make some noise nationally, which is something Bruin fans can wait for.
