As it seems, according 247 Sports, Leaf is a near lock for UCLA basketball. After Leaf decommitted from Arizona back in August, Head Coach Steve Alford was hot on his trail and appeared to have made a serious sales pitch as Leaf put the Bruins on his Top-8.
So why is Leaf such a big deal? For one thing, he is a large bodied (though lanky) forward that moves like a shooting guard. He has a vicious offensive game that is aided by his tall, slender frame. Needless to say, he is an athletic specimen to behold.
He can shoot the three, handle the ball down court and if Leaf is within five feet of the basket, he will go going hand-to-metal with a slam dunk, that is guaranteed.
If Leaf does commit to the UCLA Basketball team, he will join 5-star PG Lonzo Ball, 3-star SG Kobe Parras and 4-star C Ike Anigbogu in Westwood next season. Currently, the Bruins have the #7 recruiting class in the country for 2016. If Leaf signs, UCLA could very well move into the Top 3.
