What’s Bruin Show – Episode 74 – UCLA Football’s Wild Win Over The Cats

In Episode 74 of the What’s Bruin Show, we dissect the interestingly wild 56-30 UCLA Football victory over Arizona. We then look ahead to the Bruins next game against struggling Arizona State team.

In our latest episode, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I take a wild look at the UCLA Football team after last week. Why? Because the Bruins destroyed a Top 25 team, that s why.

UCLA Football had played an up-and-down game against the Arizona Wildcats that was mostly up as you can tell by the 56-30 score. The Bruin offense seemed to be back as Josh Rosen threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns. Paul Perkins may have only ran for 85 yards going forward, but as we talk about, he was all over the field in a dominant 3-touchdown performance.

As for the UCLA defense, although they have taken a verbal beating from their coaches and the media this week for giving up 353 rushing yards, we examine if they are that bad, a work in progress and just had a bad game. For Pete’s sake, they are without three starting defenders, so try to cut them little slack, Okaaaaaay?

We then get into The Game That Will Be as UCLA welcomes Arizona State to the Rose Bowl this weekend. Though we have our reservations about this game (IT’S A TRAP!), for the most part we come to the same conclusion about (how bad the Bruins will beat the Sun Devils in) this game.

We then finish up with a broad look at the Pac-12 as the landscape has changed in the last two weeks. Seriously, UCLA and Utah are the best teams in the conference right now while Oregon is trending down? Who knew?
