On the final day of announcements for the 2015 preseason awards, two UCLA Bruins have made the cut of 50 players for the Walter Camp Award watch list. Juniors Paul Perkins and Myles Jack were named to the watch list which is one of the oldest award in college football and is another to honor the “Player of the Year”.

Collectively, this is the eighth award watch list both Perkins and Jack have been named to. Perkins was listed as part of the Maxwell and Doak Walker Award watch lists while Jack was named to the Bednarik, Butkus, Hornung, Lombardi and Nagurski Award watch lists.

Last season, Perkins was the top rusher in the Pac-12, leading the conference with 1,575 total yards, helping the Bruins to be the second best rushing team behind Oregon. Jack, along with former Bruin and all-time leading UCLA tackler Eric Kendricks, helped to make the Bruins be one of the best defensive teams in the conference, only behind Stanford and Utah in total defense. Jack was second on the Bruins, behind Kendricks, with 88 tackles (58 solo, 30 assisted).

With all this talent, UCLA football will be looking to build off of back-to-back 10-win seasons this fall with the potential to win the Pac-12 Conference… and possibly more. Along with Perkins and Jack, the Bruins also have 16 other returning starters. Go Bruins, indeed!
