UCLA Vs Colorado: Go Joe Bruin Predicts The Game

facebooktwitterreddit

So the Bruins snapped their two-game losing streak when the played against Cal last week to stay in the South Division race. In doing that, UCLA also extended their road win streak to seven games, which brings up an interesting point, as they travel to Colorado this weekend, that streak could go to eight, but more importantly would also give the Bruins six wins and make them bowl eligible. Needless to say, it is a big game for UCLA, even if the lowly Colorado are having a tough year. With that, let us check out what the staff of GJB says as we predict UCLA Vs Colorado.

I shudder to think of the fan meltdown (myself included) if this game is even close, much less a UCLA loss. The most straight-forward matchup remaining on our schedule and one the Bruins should handle comfortably.

The Bruins will clean up the offensive hiccups and play a complete game against the Buffaloes. Colorado keeps it close at home early but UCLA pushes away after the half.

I think the Bruin’s defense has found it’s stride and will stifle the Buffaloes offense for a hard fought win.

UCLA may have found their footing last week in a big win over Cal, so look for the momentum to carry over into this weeks match up with the Buffaloes. Though much improved, Colorado wont be able to keep up with the Bruins on either side of the football. Their passing game might be their one shot at a win, but it’s hard to see Sefo Liufau making enough big plays without turning the ball over. Bruins roll 38-14.

UCLA made a lot of improvements in the win over Cal last week. The offense had their best game in a long time, the offensive line gave Hundley a lot of time in the pocket and opened up major holes in the run game throughout the contest.

Slowing down a potent Cal offense was going to be a test for the Bruins and although the Golden Bears did play better in the second half, the defense made a huge play and stepped up again when it mattered with Marcus Rios coming up with an interception to seal the win.

No disrespect to Colorado, but despite having some good talent throughout the roster, they have a lot of improving to do if they want to put themselves in the thick of the Pac-12 race in the future. UCLA should be able to build on last week’s victory and win in a rout in Boulder.

Looking at UCLA’s progress, there is more than a sufficient amount of evidence to prove that the Bruins are getting better. Aside from two losses and a very close win, UCLA is finally playing up to their potential. What they need to completely eradicate are penalties and turnovers because it is not just yards and the ball they are giving up, it is momentum. Every team that UCLA has played this season has taken advantage of that. Get rid of those issues and you have a stellar football team.
