The USC-UCLA football rivalry is one of the most heated and storied rivalries in college football and there is no need to exaggerate and or overhype this rivalry. The two schools are located just 10 miles apart in Los Angeles, California, and their annual matchup is one of the most anticipated games of the season for not only Pac-12 fans but also college football fans from around the country.

The rivalry is known for its passionate fans from both fanbases, who often tailgate for hours before the game and create a raucous atmosphere prior to game time. The game is also known for its high-scoring offenses, as both schools have produced some of the best quarterbacks and wide receivers in college football history.

The USC-UCLA football rivalry is one of the most exciting and competitive rivalries in college football. The two schools are usually evenly matched and even when they are not, the game is more than not a competitive game. The rivalry is a major source of pride for both schools and their fans, and it is sure to continue for many years to come as both schools are joining the Big Ten in 2024.

The rivalry dates back to 1929 when USC defeated UCLA 76-0. USC has led in the overall series 52-33-7, but UCLA has won three of the last four games.

Some games between these two schools had more significance than others. Going by to 1967 when USC defeated UCLA 21-20 in the Rose Bowl, the victory secured a national championship, meaning this game determined if USC would capture a national title that year. In

In 1982, UCLA defeated USC 20-19 in the Rose Bowl, ending USC’s period of dominance and the win by the Bruins cemented the return of UCLA being competitive and winning games in this storied rivalry. In 1998 UCLA defeated USC 34-17 in the final game of the regular season, extending the Bruins’s win streak over the Trojans to eight straight games. Then USC went on a run in this storied and prestigious rivalry.

In 2006, UCLA defeated UCS in a hard-fought defensive battle 13-9 victory, ending USC’s five-game winning streak in the rivalry. In 2012, UCLA defeated USC 38-28, ending another run by the Trojans in the series and ending another USC’s five-game winning streak in the rivalry.
