In episode 218 of the What’s Bruin Show, we talk USC and UCLA football with our friends from Reign of Troy as we prep for the 2019 season.

We have a special double episode for you today as we do our annual preseason Crosstown Podcast with Michael Castillo and Alicia de Artola from Reign of Troy Radio as we discuss both USC and UCLA football.

In the first part, WBS previews USC football as we ask RoT what they think about the upcoming season in Trojanland.

More from Go Joe Bruin

We get the conversation started as we talk about the latest scandal to rock the program as Clancy Pendergast is under fire for allegedly paying for graduate assistants to take the test for players. We ask RoT what they think about this and how it will affect USC football, if at all.

We then get into some real football analysis as we look at the team from top to bottom. First off, what is going on with the Trojans regarding Clay Helton? He’s a coach that is definitely on the hot seat, and if he does not produce any results this season, it could be his last.

We then get into some opinion-based superlatives as RoT tells us what the most overrated and underrated aspects of the team will be this fall.

And because it will make national headlines, we ask about the troubles with the USC basketball program and ask how Andy Enfield has managed to go unterminated.

We then get into some Pac-12 talk as we discuss the goings-on with the Conference of Champions. We have a round table discussion on which teams will win the division, who will be crowned champion and who is the most overrated team in the Pac-12 (hint: it’s Oregon).
