The UCLA baseball team continues to roll after a sweep of Washington which kept them atop the D1 Baseball standings. It is the 10th consecutive week they have held that spot.
There seems to be no stopping the UCLA baseball team as they are now 45-8 for the season after striking down the Washington Huskies at Jackie Robinson Stadium over the weekend.

The result has kept the Bruins as the no. 1 team in the nation, according to D1 Baseball. What is even more amazing is the fact that the Bruins have claimed that spot for the 10th consecutive week this season which is helping to solidify this year as one of the best in UCLA baseball history.

The weekend series began on Friday as the Bruins bludgeoned the Huskies with an 8-3 win. Ryan Garcia (8-0) had another impressive game as he struck out 13 in five innings while giving up only three hits. Though he allowed three runs, it was enough to hold back UW with the UCLA batters taking over. Collectively, the Bruins had a 10-hit, eight RBI performance as they were led by Mitchell Garrett who contributed four RBIs, three hits and two runs to the contest.
On Saturday, the game was slightly closer (depending on your perspective), but the Bruins were still able to get the win via shutout (their 11th of the season, which is first in the nation). Pitcher Jack Ralston (10-0) claimed his 10th win of the year with a nine-strikeout, one hit performance through six innings. Though UCLA was only able to get six hits in this game, it was highlighted by Michael Toglia smashing his 12th home run of the season.
Sunday saw more of the same as the Bruins annihilated the Huskies by a score of 13-2. Depsite Jesse Bergin getting the start, he was replaced in the top of the second inning after he gave up four hits and two runs (the only UW scores of the game). Michael Townsend (2-0) entered the game at that point in relief and did not allow a hit through five innings.
Again it was the Bruin batters that were on fire as they let six home runs fly throughout the game with a 16 hit, 14 RBI performance. Toglia once again sent one over the wall as he recorded his 13th home run of the season, leading all Bruins. Ryan Kreidler and Jeremy Ydens contributed to the home run party with two each while Micthell had one, totaling six.
