Along with Grubb, the Bruins are bringing in another speedster in Keegan Jones, as well as power back Jahmon McClendon and fullback Sitiveni Kaufusi. This list of youngsters is in addition to the Bruin RBs already on the roster: Joshua Kelley, Martell Irby, and Kazmeir Allen.

According to Bruin Report Online, Grubb was expected to join the Arizona State Sun Devils as a walk-on but had a change of heart when Kelly and Co. offered him a scholarship last week. The 5’11, 175 lbs. Grubb is also expected to be a two-sport athlete and join the track team.
Over the weekend, the speedster ran a 10.40 in the 100m finals. To get a feel of just how fast that is, UCLA’s Kazmeir Allen ran a 10.44 when he won last year’s high school state championship.
Grubb told 247Sports’ national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins, “Growing up, UCLA was my dream school, and I’ve been practicing track on their campus since I was eight years old so I honestly feel this an opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m very excited about it.”
So what does Grubb bring to the Bruins? We covered his speed, but that is only half of it. It all begins with the snap where Grubb makes excellent decisions in avoiding the defense when he gets the ball in his hands.
Grubb possesses the vision to find holes in the line and go up the middle, but also knows when to stretch the field and hit the edges. Once he gets some space, he has no problem turning on the afterburners and blowing past the opposition. Grubb also knows how to hit the right angle to avoid contact and can easily juke or adjust his trajectory to avoid a tackle with losing minimal momentum and acceleration.
