UCLA Basketball at Washington State 2018: Gameday info and preview
The UCLA Basketball team broke a three-game losing streak with a win over Arizona. Can they start a winning streak with a win over Washington State?
The UCLA Basketball team is not in the greatest position, but they are doing better then they were before Saturday. After perfunctory losses to Oregon State, USC, and Arizona State, like Peter Frampton, the Bruins came alive against Arizona (no one under 35 will understand that joke) in what was one of the biggest wins over their rival.
With this new energy, UCLA can continue collecting wins and advance their climb up the Pac-12 standings, but they have to get through Wazzu first.

- Moses Brown – UCLA is a longer team than Wazzu, which means that Brown has to take control under the basket.

Tonight, they have a chance to extend the winning as they head to Pullman to take on the Washington State Cougars, a team that is having a few problems of their own.
Still, his has all the makings of an upset for Wazzu. Despite the fact that UCLA is favored in this game, the Bruins have to maintain their cohesiveness and not sit back and expect to cruise past the Cougars. The Bruins have to find energy in a place that seriously lacks it. Not only will the arena be empty, but UCLA is 1-3 in their last four games at Beasley Coliseum.
If the Bruins can avoid getting sucked into the lethargic atmosphere then they should be able to put together 40 solid minutes of basketball.
The Cougars rely on Robert Franks and CJ Elleby for scoring, so if the Bruins can somehow prevent them from getting the ball, that will take away a good portion of Wazzu’s offense.
UCLA also has to keep up their end of the deal on offense. As noted above, Wilkes went off for 34 points and needs to keep that production up. UCLA could also benefit from a few extra points from their role players like Prince Ali, Jalen Hill, David Singleton, Cody Riley, and Jules Bernard.
As long as UCLA does not underestimate Washington State, they should be fine. The best way to approach this game is to assume that they are a Top 10 team and not play down to them.
Prediction: UCLA 80 – Washington State 74
