There is a lot of concern with the USC football team. Their defense, which was lauded at the beginning of the season, seems to be just above average. Their offense, which has shown flashes of greatness, has not really solidified themselves as elite. Their offensive line is spotty, their running game is subpar and their freshman quarterback is showing why he is a freshman quarterback.
And we could talk all day about how Clay Helton is probably not the coach that is going to take USC to the promise land. Still, they are loaded with talent and several future NFL players, but when you put it all together, they are not what they seem. And considering that an inferior UCLA team almost beat them last season, I expect a similar game this year at the Rose Bowl, with a slightly different result.
Possible Result: WIN

Vs Stanford, Nov 24
And with Stanford comes the end of the season and with the end of the season, UCLA’s first year under Chip Kelly will come to an unimpressive end. Even if the Bruins were to beat the Cardinal, considering the predictions from above, UCLA would only be 4-8. That means no bowl game and an early vacation.
But let us not kid ourselves. Stanford not only gets exponentially better by the end of a season, but they have the Bruins’ number and that number will move to “12”… the win streak Stanford will have over UCLA.
As much as we hope the Bruins will improve by season’s end, there will not be enough in the tank to beat a potential Top 10 candidate.
Possible Result: LOSS
With these results, UCLA will go 3-9 overall and 3-6 in conference this season. Chip Kelly wants to win now, but that is just not in the cards. This season will prep the Bruins for next year where they will hopefully have a better turn out.
