After an interesting opening weekend for both the Oklahoma and UCLA football programs, the betting line is seriously in favor of the Sooners for Saturday’s game.

It was a good weekend for Oklahoma and a not-so-good weekend for the UCLA football team as both programs opened up the 2018 season.

While Oklahoma went on a tear against Florida Atlantic with a 63-14 win (they were up 42-0 at halftime), the Bruins struggled against Cincinnati, a team they were two-touchdown favorites against.

Well, the betting lines are out for the next week and keeping last weekend’s results in mind, it does not look good for the Bruins who lost 26-17 by the hands of the Bearcats.

In fact, it looks downright brutal as Oklahoma have opened as 25.5 favorites against the slow-paced Bruins.

That is a significant line, but considering how flat UCLA came out against Cincinnati on offense (the opposite of what was expected), it might be hard for the Bruins to score against the mighty Sooners.

This past Saturday, Oklahoma made a statement against Lane Kiffin’s FAU squad as they put up 650 yards (334 passing, 316 rushing) on the Owls. Though the Bruins did well on defense, this is going to be a huge task trying to take down the Kyler Murray-led Sooners.

UCLA’s defense only allowed 304 total yards against Cincinnati, but this Saturday, UCLA is taking on a bigger beast… in their own home.

UCLA also has to deal with the fact that they are once again in limbo about who will be running the offense as last weekend’s starter, Wilton Speight was injured in the second quarter and had to leave the game. Backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson had come in to replace him but was not able to lead the Bruins to victory.

Speight is said to be day-to-day with a back injury and is possible for Saturday at Oklahoma, but if he cannot go, DTR and Devon Modster will be the best options for Game 2.
