What we will see is Kelly 2.0, but what will that be? An evolution from his time at Oregon? A representation of Kelly’s Philadelphia Eagles?
A mixture of both?
What we do know is that it is going to be fast and Kelly is going to use a lot of running backs. His dedication to the ground game is going to come out in full force as Kelly wills his offense to run the ball.
With Kelly needing this team to get up to speed quickly, I doubt we see a vanilla offense, though he won’t show all of his cards. Kelly will make both his offense and defense to be assertive and give their all.
On offense, we will see quick tempo as the RBs and WRs get into space and make plays. Not all of it will be successful, but that is why Kelly wants to get the ball rolling from the get-go with some of his more effective schemes.
On defense, expect the Bruins to go right at the Bearcats’ offense. I expect Keiseason Lucier-South and Jaelan Phillips to disrupt the offense by trying to consistently get into the backfield. The linebackers should be active, but it is not exactly known who they will field with so many injuries.
This will result in a big win for UCLA. Overall, we should see UCLA giving it all they got, especially in preparation for Oklahoma the following week. UCLA 45 – Cincinnati 13.
