In episode 173 of the ‘What’s Bruin Show’, we recap Pac-12 Media Day and preview the UCLA football team as they head into fall camp in preparation for the 2018 season.
In this latest episode, I once again fly solo as my co-hosts are out on summer assignment. But as we get closer to the 2018 season, there is already a lot of news surrounding the UCLA football team, so a podcast was needed.

Before I get to talking about Pac-12 Media Day and UCLA’s upcoming fall camp, I go over a few Go Joe Bruin headlines.
Though there is not a lot of hoops news, I chat about UCLA basketball’s Pac-12 schedule pairings and their competition in the Las Vegas Invitational in which they start out against Michigan State and could potentially face North Carolina or Texas.
I then briefly talk about recruiting and how fans need to be patient and trust the recruiting process. It is slow, yes, but it will be worth it in the end. I then get into the few players that have made preseason award watch lists.

Should fans be concerned that there are only six players recognized or will there be several players that will come out of nowhere in 2018?
After all that is done, I recap Pac-12 Media Day. I first look at the preseason Media Poll and compare that to the Go Joe Bruin Pac-12 predictions. There are definite similarities and not a lot of surprises.
After that, I comment on a few notable remarks from Chip Kelly as he speaks at his first Pac-12 Media Day as the Bruins’ head coach.
With all the changes that have occurred since Kelly took over, there has been some significant turnover with the roster and I take a look at what UCLA is dealing with in regards to player personnel for the upcoming seasons.
I then get into the nitty gritty of fall camp as I look at every position group. Aided by listener questions via Twitter, I give my take on what the Bruins will look like in 2018.
