Last season, UCLA finished the season 4th following a disappointing season which eventually got former coach Jim Mora fired and prompted the UCLA Athletic Department to seek out and hire Kelly. Though many predict a lot of success for the Bruins in the future, they believe it will not come immediately.
With a lot of turnover in player personnel and one of the toughest schedules in the country, it seems appropriate to have the Bruins finish in the bottom half of the division.
The consensus from several college football outlets is that they genuinely have no clue what to expect from the Bruins. Like us here at Go Joe Bruin, they can see both scenarios in which UCLA could finish at the top of the division, but just as likely, finish close to the bottom.
Here is the how the Pac-12 Media Poll looks (first-place votes in parentheses):
North Division: 1. Washington (40), 2. Stanford (1), 3. Oregon (1), 4. Cal, 5. WSU, 6 Oregon State
South Division: 1. USC (22), 2. Utah (14), 3 Arizona (3), 4. UCLA (2), 5. Colorado (1), 6. ASU
Additionally, the media has selected Washington to win the Pac-12 Championship.
This is going to be one of the more interesting seasons in the Pac-12 in recent memory. The North Division is going to be top-heavy with Washington, Stanford, and Oregon. In the South, it is up in the air with all the changes that have been made which include the loss of several top QBs and three coaching changes.
