UCLA basketball alumni will play for the ‘Sons of Westwood’ in The Tournament and compete for a $2 million prize. It all begins today at Cal State Los Angeles.
If you haven’t heard by now, there is a team of UCLA basketball alumni that have gotten together to form the ‘Sons of Westwood’. It is a team that is competing in The Tournament against other Division I alumni teams for a $2 million prize.

The Sons’ journey toward that prize begins this evening as the former Bruins will take on team D3 in the first round of the West Regional. To see the full bracket, click HERE.

The Sons of Westwood are made up of several former alumni from the past several seasons and includes, Jordan Adams, Matt Barnes, Gyorgy Goloman, Isaac Hamilton, Malcolm Lee, Lorenzo Meta-Real, and Jerrold Smith.

They will be joined by other former Division I players Leland King (UCSB), Tyrone Nash (Notre Dame) and Khalif Wyatt (Temple).
The Sons also have a a few alumni on their coaching staff including Ryan Bailey and Jonathan Gilmore as head coaches, Jamaal Adams is an assistant coach and Grant Kitani as general manager.
The Sons of Westwood begin their journey today, and if they win, they move into the second round next week in Los Angeles.
If they win the region, they move on to the Super 16 and Quarterfinals which extend from July 27-29 in Atlanta.
If they make it as far as the semifinal and ultimately the championship game, those games will take place respectively on August 2 and 3 in Baltimore, Maryland and broadcast on ESPN
