With Cali Harrod scoring off of a Dani Morgan hit, the Seminoles went up 1-0, but that was just the start. A few batters later, Sydney Sherrill’s double brought in 3 runs to make it 4-0 Florida State. That was the last time the Seminoles would cross home plate.
In the bottom frame, UCLA’s Briana Perez’s single to center brought in Taylor Pack from second to put the Bruins on the board, 4-1.
In the next inning, Rachel Garcia continued to retire FSU batters as she was on her way to a 15 strikeout performance. With the Player of the Year doing her part pitching, the Bruin bats did their part hitting.
In the bottom of the 6th, UCLA started their annihilation of the Seminoles with a 6-run inning which started with Stevie Wisz scoring on a Julie Rodriguez hit.
Kylee Perez made herself known as she continued the barrage with a three-run homer which put UCLA up 5-4 at that point. With two more runs added to the inning, the Bruins extended their lead to 7-4 and after blanking Florida State in the Top of the 7th, UCLA got the win.
