The UCLA football team got a commit of sorts as Texas Tech offensive line graduate transfer Justin Murphy intends to finish his college career at UCLA.

BOOM! Sort of. The UCLA football team could possibly have another offensive lineman at the disposal as Texas Tech graduate transfer Justin Murphy looks to finish use his final year of eligibility in Westwood.

The big man had tweeted out his intentions to join the Bruins this morning, but is not yet with UCLA. Though he intends to join the team, it is not yet known if he has been accepted to a graduate program.

UCLA has been burned by players trying to transfer into the program as graduates as admission standards are very high (to no fault by either party). A few years ago, the Bruins had a graduate transfer from Texas, C Jake Raulerson, slip through their fingers as he was not able to find a program to admit him.

Luckily, things are not completely pessimistic on that front as Michigan transfer, QB Wilton Speight, was able to gain entry and will be joining the Bruins in the fall.

If Murphy can do the same, he will help out an offensive line that is in desperate need of bodies and experience.

Murphy had retired from football in 2016 after he learned that he needed more surgery to repair an ACL injury, but after a year, he was able to recover and made his way back with Texas Tech.

Now he is looking to finish up his last season of eligibility in Westwood where he would most likely compete for a starting spot. Murphy looks to come in as inoffensive tackle.
