UCLA Football: There is a possibility there will be no Spring Game
UCLA football head coach Chip Kelly and his staff will determine in the next few days whether the Bruins will hold a proper spring game or if lesser activities are in order.
UCLA football’s spring practice has one more session to go through (which is closed to the public) before they have their annual Spring Game this Saturday. The only thing about that is the game is in danger of not happening for a few reasons.

Head coach Chip Kelly spoke with the media on Tuesday about the situation, “It all depends on depth. So we have got two more practice opportunities, today and Thursday, and then we’ll reconvene after that and see what our depth is accordingly.”

As the team is in transition with a new coaching staff, they are also in transition with several players who have either left the program or are suffering from injuries.
Because of this, the format of the game has not yet been decided, though Kelly has several options he could use.
The Bruins practice one more time (Thursday) and only after that will it be determined if they will have an actual game or more of a glorified practice. In the last few years of the Jim Mora era, the former coach and his staff opted for the latter, which often left much to be desired. Hopefully, there are enough players as the Chip Kelly era deserves to start with a bang.
Kelly stated that he would like to have a game, but the circumstances surrounding the team will determine what actually happens. The main factor is based on all the injuries that have hit the team.

It was mentioned last week that DL Greg Rogers was leaving the program and yesterday it was confirmed by Kelly that he was indeed gone. Kelly had previously said that Rogers was out with an injury, which might be true, but it is now known that he is out.
Additionally, QB Nick Jules quit and is no longer playing football. OL Paco Perez, who has been battling injuries for the last two seasons, is also gone.
