UCLA Basketball vs Washington State: TV, radio, live stream, stats and more
UCLA Basketball gets Pac-12 play underway tonight against the Washington State Cougars. Here is how to watch and what to know…
The UCLA Basketball team is a very interesting spot right now. After a few unfortunate non-conference games, head coach Steve Alford was definitely on the hot seat. Fortunately for him, a win against #7 Kentucky last Saturday doused that flame.

Though there is a possibility that Alford could raise that flame once again, right now his Bruins are riding the high of beating the Wildcats for the third time in four seasons. But now it is time to readjust as the meaningful part of the schedule is here as Pac-12 Conference play begins.

Players to Watch:
Kris Wilkes – The freshman started the season hot, but cooled down some in the middle of the non-conference season. He once again came out on fire in UCLA’s last game where he scored 20 points against Kentucky.
Last Word:
Washington State did not exactly load up on Power 5 teams, but instead loaded up on lesser quality teams and in the midst of that, had a three-game losing streak to UC Davis, Idaho and UTEP. Not exactly the type of programs you would see in the NCAA Tournament, which is a bit troubling for the Cougars.
Wazzu has two players that are doing most of the work with Malachi Flynn and Robert Franks, who are both averaging over 15 points per game. Franks is especially deadly as the Cougars’ low-post threat. He is putting up a team-high 18.1 points and grabbing 7.2 rebounds. It is not a stretch to say that with UCLA’s relaxed defensive style, Franks could eclipse both of those stats tonight.
UCLA has to focus on limiting both Franks’ and Flynn’s touches and put a hand n their face. A double-team on Franks wouldn’t hurt either. The Bruins’ offense will come, so they should not worry about putting the ball in the hoop. What UCLA needs to focus on with Pac-12 play here, and has a perfect place to start with Wazzu, is defense.
With that being said, This might be another game that is closer than it should be, though the Bruins’ will be able to pull off the win.
