Former linebackers coach Scott White and former defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin are no longer with the UCLA football program even though they were expected to stay on until the Cactus Bowl.

The UCLA football team is now without two coaches, Scott White and Demetrice Martin, as they have, according to the L. A. Times, “vacated” their positions.

Although there seems to be another side of the story. Last night, Bruin Report Online were the first to release information on the situation which they claim that both coaches were “let go”.

The recruiting site also reported that both White’s and Martin’s offices were cleaned out for them.

BRO also stated that, “One incident arose Sunday in which White re-tweeted a recruit’s negative tweet about the hiring of defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads. Those tweets have since been deleted.”

White and Martin were expected to stay with the team and continue coaching their position groups through UCLA’s last game in the Cactus Bowl against Kansas State on December 26.

After that, newly hired LB coach Don Pellum and DB coach Paul Rhoads will take over with new defenisve coordinator Jerry Azzinaro. That also means that Tom Bradley is out as DC.

Without White and Martin, graduate assistants Dalton Hilliard and Kyle Weiss will take over for the departed coaches.

As for the offense, Jedd Fisch will continue to move forward as offensive coordinator, though it is not known if he will be retained in that position after the Cactus Bowl.
