What’s Bruin Show – Episode 153 – Talking UCLA Football, 114 and Balls with Bryan Fenley

In episode 153 of the ‘What’s Bruin Show’ we welcome special guest host Bryan Fenley of the Bruin Insider Show to talk about UCLA football, and the big weekend in UCLA sports.

In this episode host Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I had the honor of welcoming a special guest to the show. Bryan Fenley, host of the Bruin Insider Show, which can be heard Tuesdays at 7 PM on AM 570 LA Sports, was kind enough to join us to talk about all things UCLA.

We start to show off by getting a little into Fenley’s background and to borrow Johnny Cash lyrics, “he’s been everywhere, man!”

Fenley talks about his time working for the IMG Sports Network in North Carolina, Washington State and Memphis and what the experiences have brought hm. His latest venture has led him to Westwood, giving Bruin fans all the information on UCLA Athletics in his weekly show.

We then get into talking about the huge weekend that was with UCLA Athletics. A lot happened over the weekend with women’s volleyball, women’s soccer and the men’s water polo team capturing UCLA’s 114th national championship and we tell you!.

After that, we shift gears to UCLA football talk as we discuss the ongoing changes with Chip Kelly’s coaching staff, how it is affecting recruiting and what we might see next season. We also chat about UCLA’s invitation to the Cactus Bowl as they will take on Kansas State on December 26.

With then spend only a little bit of time, because Jake does not want to talk about the subject anymore, chatting about the situation with LaVar Ball and his family.  With LiAngelo Ball being pulled from UCLA by his father, we react talk about what’s next for UCLA basketball.
