Fans tailgating before the Arizona State-UCLA Football game were treated to a banner flying overhead calling out head coach Jim Mora in response to the program’s downward spiral.

It seems when Bruin fans are mad, the thing to do is fly a banner overhead. That was the scene at the Rose Bowl before the UCLA Football team kicked off their game against Arizona State.

Last week, it was reported by the L.A. Times that a group of Bruin fans started a GoFundMe to raise money for the banner.

Per Ben Bolch, two banners with individual messages will be flown over the Rose Bowl and next week over Westwood with the messages, “GUERRERO 9-16 THE LAST 25 GAMES NO MORA!” and “UCLA FB 16YRS 0 ROSE BOWLS 0 CONF TITLES!”

At the Rose Bowl, the first message was prominently displayed overhead.

Under Mora, UCLA has only won 8 games in the last two seasons. This was after starting out with 9, 10, 10 and 8-win seasons.

Things have not gone as planned this season. With the return of Josh Rosen, things were suppose to improve. That did not happen, especially with the defense giving up 303 yards on the ground. It has been painful to watch to say the least.

The Bruins have also had an unprecedented amount of injuries, but that is only part of the problem. Coaching has been an issue and there seems to be the sense that the coaches have lost the players, or maybe vice versa. Last Sunday, former linebacker Breland Brandt tweeted out a photo of a text sent by a UCLA staff member saying that the medically retired Brandt “quit” the team.

NOTE: Shortly after this article was published, a second banner appeared.

It hasn’t been pretty in Westwood and this banner is a huge indication of that.
