In episode 147 of the ‘What’s Bruin Show’, we take a look at the direction the UCLA Football team is heading in after beating Oregon, bearing in mind a tough road lies ahead.

In this latest episode, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I look at the UCLA Foottball team’s future to try and decipher what trajectory the team is heading in after their big win against Oregon.

Can UCLA sustain their success?

We all agree that it was a win UCLA needed, but it was against a team that was clearly worse off than the Bruins. UCLA used a balanced offensive attack led by Josh Rosen, Christian Pabico and Bolu Olorunfunmi as the Bruins were able to get back to the style that has helped them to be one of the most explosive offenses in the country after they sputtered against Arizona.

Oregon’s offense is a shell of what it was at the start of the season. It was good to see the UCLA defense getting a lot of stops against the Ducks, even with injuries building up, but it was against a broken team.

Still, with this win, UCLA is 4-3 which ties their win total from last season. Can the Bruins keep that going with five games remaining?

That will be a difficult task as UCLA heads until very tough stretch of the season which begins this weekend at Washington.

We also get into what the temperature of the UCLA fan base is. Right now they seem split on firing Mora or letting him try to right the ship with five games left in the regular season. We talk about what exactly it would take for Bruin fans to be pushed towards the “Mora is back!” or “FIRE MORA NOW!” crowds.
