UCLA Football: Good win over Oregon, but it gets a lot tougher from here on out
The UCLA Football team had a good win against the Oregon Ducks, but they need to keep focus as the Bruins head into the tough stretch of the season.
As we saw this weekend, it is possible for the UCLA Football team to play a complete game. The Bruins took out Oregon with a solid offensive plan and with a defense that put out one of their best efforts this season.

But also, let us keep in mind that this was against a beaten and bruised Ducks team that was down to their 3rd string quarterback. This was no doubt a good win, but the Bruins have not won anything yet. There is still a lot of season left and it is going to get quite turbulent for UCLA, especially on the road.
UCLA has had a tough schedule from the start, but things get worse with the remaining five games at Washington, at Utah, vs Arizona State, at USC and vs Cal.
- Record of teams played: 33-19
- Record of teams yet to play: 24-13
- Record of teams played at home: 16-14
- Record of teams played on the road: 16-5
- Record of teams still to play at home: 5-7
- Record of teams still to play on the road: 14-5
At home, the Bruins are 4-0, while going winless away from the Rose Bowl at 0-3. Unfortunately, that trend looks to continue considering UCLA’s remaing games at home and on the road.

Notably, UCLA has had an easier home schedule. The toughest opponent, who is looking good at 5-2 right now, was Texas A&M whom the Bruins defeated with a 38-point comeback to kick off the season.
Other than that, the Bruins have played some easier opponents at home and is on target to go 6-0, but that will be tough with ASU coming to town. They have surprised this season and look to be another difficult home contest. Not to mention ASU has beaten UCLA at the Rose Bowl the last three out of the last five meetings.
The road has been tough, but now it gets brutal. This weekend the Bruins travel to Seattle to face the Washington Huskies, a team that is looking to get back to the College Football Playoffs. Then the Bruins take a trip to Salt Lake City for a (quite possibly) cold Friday night game. The Utes are down this season, but they still match up well with the Bruins.
And then there is that daunting game across town against the Trojans. USC has taken a few hits this year, but they still have a ton of talent. Plus anything can happen in a rivalry game.
