UCLA Football: Injury report heading into the bye week

The UCLA Football team has sustained a lot of injuries since the start of the season, but get to rest some players as they head into the bye week. Who could be back by Arizona and who will need more time?

This is a good time for a break as the UCLA Football team can lick their wounds and recuperate heading into the bye week.

Today, Head Coach Jim Mora gave a brief update on several Bruins who have suffered from various injuries and gave a few timetables for return. Here is who is on the mend:

-LB Breland Brandt (concussion) will start “return to play” protocol and the coaches are not rushing him back.

-LB DeChaun Holiday (shoulder) has not yet played this year but Mora said “he has chance” to play against Arizona.

-RT Sunny Odogwu (undisclosed) has not played this year but should available for the Arizona game.

-DE Jaelan Phillips (ankle), the superstar-in-the-making defenseive end, is also looking to work his way back and should be available for the Arizona game.

-LB Lokeni Toailoa (undisclosed) should be available for the Arizona game.

-LG Najee Toran (undisclosed) should be able to return by the Arizona game.

-TE Caleb Wilson (foot) is out for season, as reported over the weekend.

UCLA awarded its final available scholarship today to walk-on punter Stefan Flintoff who has done a respectful job this season on special teams. UCLA is 5th in the Pac-12 in punting with a net average of 40.1 yards.
