UCLA Football: 2018 Offensive Lineman commit charged with rape
2018 UCLA Football commit OL Marco Brewer has been “charged as an adult with rape” after an incident that occurred on May 14, 2017.
News out of Corvallis, Oregon is that one of UCLA Football‘s 2018 commits has been charged with rape, among other crimes.
Marco Brewer, a 3-star offensive lineman from Corvallis High School, pleaded not guilty in the Benton County Circuit Court according to the Gazette-Times this past Wednesday to the charges stemming from the allegation. Brewer is being charged with first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.
According to the Gazette-Times, “Brewer engaged in sexual intercourse with a person who was incapable of consent by reason of mental incapacitation or physical helplessness.”

Because of this situation, it is uncertain what Brewer’s future will be in football at both the high school and college level. So far, no decision has been made by Corvallis High School on whether he will play his senior season this fall, as it is “too early in the criminal case”.
Additionally, no action has been taken by the UCLA Football coaching staff, most likely because of the same reason.
Bruin Head Coach Jim Mora has had a tough stance on players that have put themselves in this situation. Early in his tenure in Westwood, Mora had released former offensive lineman Torian White from the team back in 2014 for “sexual misconduct”.
If these allegation prove to be true, it is very likely that UCLA could pull their scholarship offer from Brewer who was set to come to Westwood in 2019. Aside form Brewer, UCLA has four offensive linemen committed to the 2018 class.
