Ken Montgomery, Jr. (Hillsborough HS/Tampa, FL) committed to UCLA, adding to not only their talented defensive class, but continues to give DB Coach Demetrice Martin some depth in the secondary.

Montgomery is a very versatile corner that can be called upon to do a number of things. At 6’1″, 155 lbs., Montgomery will need to add some weight by the time he gets to Westwood, but for the most part he has all the tools a coach wants in a cornerback.

More from Go Joe Bruin

As a pass defender, Montgomery has the vision to hone in on passes to the outside were he will either knock down passes or simply intercept them for himself.

He also has good field awareness and can spot where a ball is heading along the ground and pursue ball carriers.

On top of the that, he is fast and has good positioning, which are good raw skills to have that will help him develop into an even deadlier collegiate defensive back.

With this commitment, UCLA now has 17 players who have given their pledge to play in Blue and Gold. Montgomery is just the sixth defensive player the Bruins have for 2018 and fourth defensive back, though he is the first corner to commit.
