The UCLA Football team picked up a huge offensive tackle as former Miami Hurricane, Sunny Odogwu, is heading to Westwood as a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play this fall.

BOOM! UCLA Football is going to get some immediate help on the offensive line as the Bruins just picked up a big transfer. On Friday morning it was announced that former Miami Hurricane OT Sunny Odogwu made his decision on a landing spot between Michigan and UCLA as a graduate transfer.

As you can tell, he chose UCLA.

Odogwu had recently finished the academic part of his college experience, but one more year of eligibility remained to play football. Opportunities came up at both Michigan and UCLA, and in the end Odogwu liked what the Bruins had to offer. According to

, Odogwu will enroll in late June.

Last season, Odogwu had started the first four games at right tackle for the Hurricanes, but his season was cut short due to a right knee injury. At the present, he seems to have recovered after surgery.

Odogwu, needless to say, is a huge human being. At 6’8″, 310 lbs., he is very physical and takes a up a lot of space and that is great news for the Bruins, especially on their depleted O-line. Odogwu is very mobile, has good foot movement, is quite strong and gives himself enough space to operate to get the most out of his blocks.

The addition of Odogwu should give the Bruins an answer at right tackle. With Kolton Miller moving from right to left tackle, replacing Conor McDermott, Odogwu brings in immediate and necessary experience to help hold down the line that was in disarray last season. This also helps with depth as the Bruins are lacking bodies at certain spots on the line.

If Odogwu can quickly adjust to the new culture that the Bruins are instilling under Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch and OL coach Hank Fraley, then that should help the Bruins improve the overall effectiveness of the offense next season.
