Potential 2017-18 Depth Chart

So with all that in mind, here is a potential depth chart for next season:

PG: Aaron Holiday, Jaylen Hands

SG: Prince Ali, LiAngelo Ball

SF: Kris Wilkes, Chris Smith

PF: Ike Anigbogu, Cody Riley, Gyorgy Goloman, Alex Olesinski

C: Thomas Welsh, Jalen Hill, Ikenna Okwarabizie

If Head Coach Steve Alford wanted to, he could have a 10-man rotation next season, though with all this talent, it might be best to limit it to an 8 or 9-man rotation.

More from Go Joe Bruin

Pending the return of Holiday and Welsh, both should secure starting spots as both have experience in the opening rotation.

Helping to bring more experience will be Prince Ali who returns from injury and will be 100% by next season. He has two years of knowldge in this offense, which will help the transition of losing four players.

With Anigbogu’s detail to defense, as well as his experience in his first year, he should take over the other starting spot in the front court. That leaves one position open which could be filled by 5* freshman forward Kris Wilkes. Because of his position and lack of depth at the 3, he could be the only freshman to start, despite the rest of the freshmen having the skills to be 1st stringers.

Still, the freshmen talent is not bad to have as backups, especially having Jaylen Hands, LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill waiting patiently for their shot.

That is nine players that have the talent to start for the Bruins. That should bring some optimism to UCLA Basketball fans heading into next season. Though this year ended in disappointment and UCLA loses several key players, there is a lot to be happy about going forward. Go Bruins.
