The UCLA Women’s Basketball team had their season come to an end as they could not take down #1 UCONN and end their season in the Sweet 16.

The UCLA Women’s Basketball team tried, but could not stop the longest winning streak in college basketball as the Bruins succumbed tot he power that is the Connecticut Huskies, who now have won 110 straight games.

The game was pretty much all UCONN from the get-go. After one quarter, UCLA was down 13-26 and it kept getting worse for the Bruins from that point on.

The Huskies scored more than 20 points in all but one quarter, while the Bruins could only score more than 20 in the 3rd quarter.

UCONN was simply a scoring machine. Four players scored 14 points or more with Napheesa Collier netting a game-high 27 points and also grabbed 14 rebounds.

UCLA’s dynamic duo of Jordin Canada and Monique Billings also collected double-doubles for the Bruins. Canada put up 20 points and 11 assists, while Billings had 17 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. Kari Korver also helped out on the offensive end as she went 5/11 from three-point land to finish with 15 points.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to get past UCONN. And with that the Huskies move on and the Bruins return home after an excellent season which had them in the Top 25 all season long and end with a 25-9 overall record.

But fear not UCLA Basketball fans, the Bruins will be back in full force next season. Aside from the graduating Nicole Kornet and Kari Korver, the Bruins stay pretty much intact, especially with Billings and Canada returning next season.
