As one of the four schools to have both men’s and women’s programs get to their Sweet 16s in their respective NCAA Tournaments, UCLA is showing that they always have been and always will be a basketball school.
We start off with some talk about the women’s team as they rolled through the first two rounds which were hosted at Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins destroyed Boise State and Texas A&M, but have a huge mountain to climb as they head to Connecticut to face #1 Connecticut.
Then we get in to some deep conversations about the UCLA men’s basketball team which had an eventful first weekend. Behind two second-half surges, the Bruins were able to bully their way past Kent State, and show Cincinnati, at least in this game, that offense is better than defense.
So after the first weekend of the NCAA tournament, UCLA Men’s Basketball continues to roll, and just like the women, the men have a difficult task ahead of them.
Head Coach Steve Alford has never been passed the Sweet 16 and if he wants to do it this year, he’s going to have to do it against a team he’s beaten twice in the last two seasons, Kentucky. Talk about a tough draw, but we all come to the same conclusion… Lonzo ball will be the difference maker.
We also have what’s Bruins show guest host on the WBS hotline, Jim been debt, who talks about his Northwestern Wildcats run in there first NCAA tournament, his take on the UCLA women’s basketball team and what the UCLA men’s team have in store for them.
