UCLA Basketball vs. USC Preview

The UCLA Basketball team is on a roll, if you have not noticed. They are currently riding a 9-game win streak into the Pac-12 Tournament and do not look like they are slowing down.

More from Go Joe Bruin

Led by the highly-decorated Lonzo Ball, the Bruins will be looking to have a better showing in the conference tournament than they did last year, especially against USC. Last year, the merciless Bruin season was ended by USC, 95-71, in a game that had people calling for head Coach Steve Alford’s head.

Things are different this season as the Bruins are the #3 team in the country. The Bruins split the season series against USC, but their second showing at Pauley Pavilion seemed to a lot more convincing of who is the better team as UCLA bRuined USC with a 32-point smashing.

But just because that happened once before, does not mean it will happen again.

USC is currently considered a “bubble” team and needs to impress the NCAA Tournament Selection committee if they want to be in the Big Dance, so a win over UCLA is imperative.

The only problem with that is UCLA seems unstoppable right now. With all eyes on Ball and the Bruins, expect the blue and gold to continue to work over the Pac-12, which starts with the L.A. neighbors.
