A report from CBS Sports is claiming that new UCLA Football Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch is on a short list of candidates to fill the open Alabama OC spot.
Could it be that the UCLA football team will have to look for another offensive coordinator before spring practice?
Unfortunately, this is a possibility as Jedd Fisch, the Bruins new offensive coordinator, is apparently being zeroed in by Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban to fill their vacant OC position.
Since the end of December, Alabama has lost two offensive coordinators. Former Crimson Tide OC and USC Head Coach Lane Kiffin moved on right before the national championship game to take over at Florida Atlantic University.

He was replaced by another former USC head coach, Steve Sarkisian, who led the offense in only one game before moving on to take the same position with the Atlanta Falcons.
Now Sabin is looking for someone to take over his offense and UCLA’s new OC Fisch is among four names that CBS Sports is claiming Saban is looking at.

Alabama, winner of four of the last eight national championships, is currently the definition of college football success. So should UCLA Football fans be worried?
Yes and no. Yes because Fisch is an up-and-coming offensive mind that Saban recognizes. Clearly Mora thought the same thing, but can he keep the former Michigan QB Coach? A job offer at Alabama not only nearly quarantines success and championships, but there should also be a pay raise in it for Fisch.
But on the opposite side of the spectrum, working for Saban means that coaches will be under the iron fist of one of the most successful college football coaches in history. Though he brings success, Saban also brings a level of intensity that some coaches might not find desirable.
At Alabama, Fisch would be under a microscope. At UCLA, since Mora is a defensive mind, Fisch would most likely have free reign to do whatever he pleases with the Bruin offense.
Also, Fisch needs to battle it out with three other coaches, two of which are currently assistants in the NFL. New England Patriots tight ends coach Brian Daboll and former Houston Texans OC George Godsey are in the running along with Alabama assistant Mike Locksley who is also getting consideration.

Though it would hard to turn down the Bama OC gig if offered, hopefully Fisch can stick with his original commitment and help lead the Bruins to victory in 2017. Stay with Go Joe Bruin as we follow this storyline carefully.
