In this episode of “WB2 – The BYU Review”, we take a look at the UCLA Football team as they get the tough win in Provo, Utah over the BYU Cougars.

The UCLA Football team puled out the win against BYU and there were many positives to the 17-14 victory, but just as well, there were still some glaring deficiencies.

The biggest positive from all of this is the defense. We talk about how the Bruins dug deep and held the Cougars scoreless in the first half.

UCLA was on fire as they collected four sacks before the break. By the end of the game, UCLA’s run defense stepped up and held BYU to only 23 total rushing yards. Needless to say, we were giddy about it, but we are also cautious.

The Bruins did allow a late touchdown due to some conservative play calling which we had separate opinions on, but for the most part, we liked the direction the Bruins are headed.

The part that stumped us was the offense. Play-calling, quarterback performance, running backs rotations and why Head Coach Jim Mora is so quiet about certain players not playing. It is perplexing to say the least, but overall there were some bright spots which we agreed can help the Bruins moving forward.

Either way, there were some good aspects to this game and few that need to be tightened up, especially with the

coming to town next Saturday in a prime time clash at the Rose Bowl.
