Relax UCLA Football Fans, It Is Just One Game
Yes, the UCLA Football team lost to the Texas A&M Aggies in the first game of the season, but it is only one game.
The UCLA Football team lost to Texas A&M 31-24 and have a record of 0-1 to start the 2016 season. Let me repeat the Bruins are 0-1… not 0-12.

Before I get into my piece, know that I understand the frustration by Bruin fans especially after all the hype that followed this team around before the season started.
Many outlets reporting on UCLA during fall camp, including Go Joe Bruin, saw some good things from the Bruins.

Quarterback Josh Rosen looked sharp and was lauded as one of the better QBs in the nation, UCLA moved to make positive changes on offense and defense and several players were developing into their roles.
Unfortunately, hype does not equal wins.
I understand the frustration and the points Bruin fans are making after the loss to the Aggies. The offensive line didn’t look great, coaching was inconsistent, time management could have been better, Rosen should have been better, and so on.
Here is the thing, the Bruins were not completely abysmal against the Texams A&M. Sure they went down by 15 points in the third quarter, but they came back and fought to tie it and force overtime.
Also remember that the Bruins are implementing a new offensive system and it takes time for an entire group of players to get on the same page. Luckily for the Bruins, it happened before the end of regulation.
With UCLA not living up to their expectations, they now have to prove they are a team to be feared, but that will take some work.
And when you look at the big picture, this was against a good Texas A&M team that should make some noise in the SEC. Additionally, the Bruins did not get blown out on national television like a certain team from across town. They fought to the end, unfortunately it did not go their way.
Now being down 0-1, UCLA should have a little bit of a chip on their shoulder and will probably take a more focused approach heading into their next several games.
This is a good thing, especially after all the hype. With UCLA not living up to their expectations, they now have to prove they are a team to be feared, but that will take some work.
In essence Bruin fans, let’s not stress just yet. There are things to be wary of, but there are also things to be hopeful for. I for one am going to choose to focus on the positives.
