WB2 – The UCLA Basketball Down Under Review (and a little bit of UCLA Football!)
In this episode of WB2 we discuss the UCLA Basketball team and their adventures in Australia, check in on basketball recruiting and give a small preview of UCLA Football.
In this special edition of ‘WB2 – The UCLA Basketball Down Under Review’ I analyze the Bruins in their first game in Australia as they took on Sydney University. The Bruins prevailed as they defeated the undermanned squad from down under, 123-75.

To start the show, I go over five takeaways from the game where I look at the offense, defense, the highly-touted freshman and roles of the veterans.

Though the Bruins played a team that would be an NCAA Division II school, it was good to see a little bit of improvement sprinkled in with some flashiness. Even though the Bruins lost in their second game to Australian professional team Melbourne United, there is definitely some progress.
I was then joined by GJB writer Michael Hanna who gave the lowdown on UCLA Basketball recruiting and if you think the 2016 class was good, just wait until Hanna tells you what the 2017 class can potentially shape up to be.
We then transition to a little bit of UCLA Football talk with Hanna as he gives his take on opening weekend and well as the UCLA-Texas A&M match up.
For more on the Bruin-Aggie season opener, I was then joined by What’s Bruin Show host Jake Merrifield as he talked about match ups between UCLA OC Tom Bradley and Texas A&M OC Noel Mazzone and the line battle between UCLA LT Conor McDermott and TAMU DE Myles Garrett.
