In a way-too-early decision by odds makers at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, the UCLA Football team is favored over BYU in Week 3.

It is never too early to make predictions about the upcoming season and the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas is doing just that.

The Golden Nugget has recently released a handful of odds for the 2016 season and has several surprises for the UCLA Football team. The biggest one is that the Bruins are favored (-2) at BYU. Essentially this is a “pick ’em” as it is in Provo, Utah.

Both teams are projected to be very good this year and can almost be seen as carbon copies of each other. Both have solid quarterbacks (BYU has two), are moving to a more power-structured offenses and are implementing the 4-3 formation on defense.

One of the major differences is that UCLA Football is set to start their fifth season with Head Coach Jim Mora while BYU is moving on from the Bronco Mendenhall era with new coach Kilani Sitake. Already Sitake is being lauded as a great hire from within BYU and hopefully for the Cougars he can continue what Mendenhall is built.

Still, it will be a battle of wills when both meet at 7:15 p.m. PT on Saturday, September 17. If the game is anything like last season, then both teams are going to get right in each other’s faces and try to force their style of play on the other.
