UCLA Football linemen OT Conor McDermott and DT Eddie Vanderdoes are named to the Outland Trophy Award Watch List.
The UCLA Football team received a few more individual preseason accolades today as Conor McDermott and Eddie Vanderdoes have made the list of 70 linemen named to the preseason Outland Trophy watch list. The Outland Trophy is awarded to the best interior linemen by the Football Writers Association of America.

Depsite playing on opposite sides of the ball, both of these Bruin linemen have been getting a lot of attention this offessaon, which bodes well for the UCLA O-line and D-line.
McDermott makes his first award watch list and you can understand why. As one of the top offensive linemen on the UCLA Football team last year, his return is not only essential for the line to survive but to also thrive. McDermott is also one of the top offenisve linemen in the Pac-12 Conference, hands down.
This is Vanderdoes’ third watch list after he was named to the Bernarik and just today, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list. Despite playing in only one game last season, the hype for Vanderdoes is valid. He is quick for a big man and aggressive, which will help the run defense which was not the greatest last season. If Vanderdoes is back to 100% after a new injury in 2015, then he will have a positive effect on the line.
